By the end of this session, you should be able to describe myths surrounding HIV and AIDS.
Introduction
Myths are false beliefs about something. There are many myths surrounding HIV and AIDS. Can you tell your friend of any myths you have heard about HIV? Here are a few examples. Myth 1- Sharing books, cloths, toilet, utensils, shaking hands and engaging in games/sports with an infected person can transmit HIV virus. This is not true. You cannot get HIV by sharing books, cloths, toilet and utensils with people who are infected with HIV. Also, you cannot get HIV by shaking hands or playing together with people who are infected with the virus.
